Mission: Our wish is to impact the lives of people living in remote areas (of developing countries such as: Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Southern Sudan and part of the
Caribbean)simplybyallowingthem basic solar lighting. These are often people/villages not connected to their countries electrical source - thus not having the privilege like others living in
thecitiesorsuburbs.
Currently we have executed several shipments to Kenya that have already been distributed amongst the poor. And many more shipments are already pending.
We have been very fortunate to negotiate a very sharp price per solar bulb (€10 p.b) that allows us to better manage the finances.
However, shipment to Kenya is not cheap and so is their duty/import tax. It costs us €141,5 to ship a package of 24 solar bulbs weighing max 5Kg to Kenya, and our missionary on the ground is also
taxed €175,-
Since it’s not our intention to burden the people helping us, we reimburse the one paying the tax. In this way WEQNT Charity remains Charity.
Motivation for doing this:
We believe that the use of technology should not only be used to benefit the rich or more fortunate among us. It is our conviction that the advantage of technology (be it in the field of
healthcare or science) should be made accessible to all.
Extra Info:
We are also actively exploring the funding of water-wells. For this we’ve already asked our missionary in Kenya to negotiate a sharp price.
The drilling of water-wells is reserved for when ada price gas passed 4USD. For this we have reserved 10k ada and will continue to add to this.
We are also exploring helping the kids with basic school materials, such as writing-books, pencils, pens, erasers, school bags, etc
As with almost everything, this all comes with a price. One we hope to fund with a great portion of our rewards. But to do so WEQNT needs supporting stake.
